When Jesus had raised Himself up and saw no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those accusers of yours? Has no one condemned you?” She said, “No one, Lord”. And Jesus said to her, “Neither do I condemn you; go and sin no more”. John 8: 10-11.

The bearer of our sins though sinless does not condemn us for our sins. He took them all and nailed them on the cross of Calvary. He bore the burdens and punishments of our sins. And as we come to Him, He says “Neither do I condemn you, go and sin no more”. That’s it. It’s precise and concise unlike the accusers who say a lot to prove just a simple condemnation. The old ways are passed. You are now a new creation in Christ as He lives in you now. Hence, go and sin no more.

This faith isn’t a joke. This Christianity of a religion isn’t just a religious phenomenon but a communion with the Holy Trinity – God the Father, God the Son and the Holy Spirit. When God says He does not want or like something, trust me, you cannot add to what He approves of and neither can you omit anything He has already said. He says, go and sin no more. He is saying do away with the sinful acts and settle for all the new good things He has prepared for you.

He does not condemn you for your sins but has made you aware of them. You now know right from wrong. Thus, there is no excuse for the accumulation of the old ways into the new life in Christ. Brothers and Sisters in Christ Jesus, we are disciples of Jesus on a rescue mission. We are to bring the lost back to Christ and when those on the narrow road go astray, we are to help them get back on track. Let’s not normalize sinful acts meddling with the faith on the basis of civility and trends because Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.

We are followers of Christ, walking in His footsteps and we are imitator

of Christ, living like Him. So, anything He never did, abhorred and His Spirit in you disapproves of it, do not do it. Beloved, it could be a favourite line of words, a hobby, a toxic relationship, a dream/desire, a way of dressing, and so many others, however, Christ should have a solid footing in all these spheres of your life. By so doing, you are preaching Jesus, revealing unto unbelievers the one that is in you.

“For God is Spirit, so those who worship him must worship in spirit and in spirit”. John 4:24

The heart really matters as Christ critiqued not the modesty in the appearances of the Pharisees but the distance between their lips of worship and their hearts. There was no truth in their worship. Your inward and outward sincerity about how you feel and revere God is what the Scripture means because you have the Spirit who will teach you to understand the truth and its reality.

When Jesus was revealing more about the Samaritan woman, she enthusiastically admitted to all Christ said about her. She opened her brokenness because Christ was offering her something great and thus she decided to come clean with Him. Ponder over this; as Christ has redeemed you without condemnation, how relieving is it? And so as omniscient as He is, would you rather He should be able to discern how much we appreciate Him? By what means are you going to convey the gospel to both believers and unbelievers? And especially the unbeliever who does not have the Spirit to understand spiritual matters, will you convince him with your words without action? How unconvincing!

When you worship in Spirit and in truth, you love the Lord with your entire being. In the physical and spirituals realms, your zeal is there. Paul is a good example here. We can tell of his stamina for Judaism and his perseverance and keenness for Christianity. In Christ, he looked forward to what laid ahead of him and it was all about Jesus without any fragments of the old life (Judaism). He looked forward to worship in truth and in Spirit. There was no moment where “God looks into one’s heart” was his reason to go back to sin.

Let the truth which is the light of the world live and shine in you. It will illuminate in and out of you for all to see. Remember, people will not have to rip your heart apart to know how much you love God. Do it for God and mankind will glorify God through you. But if you are far from the truth like the Pharisees, the Lord wouldn’t know you on the great day and ask you to depart from Him.

God bless and guide you in this life journey as you live to worship and serve Him in truth and in Spirit. You are free from the debts of your sins. Go and sin no more.

As always, Jesus loves you dearly.

Stay safe and spread the Word. Love y’all.
